CHICK-FIL-A WEST KNOXVILLE IS COMMITTED TO PARTNERING WITH THE FOLLOWING INITIATIVES IN 2020:

  • Schools

    • Our local public and private Elementary, Middle and High Schools

    • The University of Tennessee & Pellissippi State Community College

  • Children

    • The Muse, Tennessee Children’s Dance Ensemble, and other children focused partners

  • Non-Profit Organizations

    • Local Churches

    • Read City USA (Knox County Mayor’s Office), Youth Metro Drug Coalition, Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, VolThon, and other non-profits

Additionally, the Chick-fil-A West Knoxville will no longer make multi-year commitments and will reassess its philanthropic initiatives annually to allow maximum impact. These partners could include faith-based and non-faith-based charities.

West High School - LEader Academy

Chick-fil-A Leader Academy™ is a national high school leadership program focused on IMPACT THROUGH ACTION. The world needs more leaders who impact their local communities, and we believe high school students are the answer!

High school students desire an outlet to learn and lead. Most programs that transfer information with speakers, seminars, or books offer short-term motivation but long-term frustration without an outlet for action. Chick-fil-A Leader Academy engages students in monthly Leader Labs with a focus on important leadership skills that they will use to create student-led Community Impact Projects.

West Hills Elementary - Core Essentials

Core, our kindergarten through 5th grade curriculum, is based on a monthly value word and definition and involves everyone in the school in a small way. Core will equip students, staff, and families alike to SAY IT, KNOW IT, SEE IT and BE IT each month.

Metro Drug Coalition - YMDC Program

MDC is a nonprofit organization established in 1986 by a joint resolution of City of Knoxville and Knox County to unite policy makers and leaders to address community substance abuse issues.

Youth Metro Drug Coalition consists of sophomore, junior and senior high school students across Knox County who have a personal connection to addiction or a passion for substance abuse prevention. These teens serve as a youth-led ‘community roundtable’ on drug and alcohol prevention, providing a safe place to discuss the issues teens in their communities are facing, cultivating a sense of community amongst their peers and developing prevention strategies to implement in order to engage teens and reduce/prevent youth substance use.

YMDC is an opportunity for high school students to become community champions in the field of substance abuse prevention. With support from MDC, teens are provided the tools necessary to live above the influence of drugs and alcohol, learn effective strategies to bring education and awareness of substance abuse to their peers, and become advocates for change. Students in YMDC commit to be drug and alcohol free and are trained on topics, such as: the effects of substance abuse on the body and its impact on the community, public speaking and drug policy.
